Abstrak

Perubahan iklim mendorong pentingnya analisis hubungan antara pembangunan ekonomi dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menguji hipotesis Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) dengan menganalisis pengaruh pertumbuhan ekonomi, FDI, dan keterbukaan perdagangan terhadap emisi CO2 di lima negara ASEAN (1995-2023). Menggunakan analisis data panel, hasil penelitian mengkonfirmasi pola EKC di kawasan ini, yang ditunjukkan oleh hubungan berbentuk U terbalik antara pendapatan dan emisi. FDI terbukti menurunkan emisi, mendukung hipotesis halo polusi, sementara keterbukaan perdagangan memiliki pengaruh positif yang sangat kecil. Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi ASEAN masih bergantung pada energi fosil, dan meskipun titik balik teori EKC telah tercapai, diperlukan kebijakan yang mendukung transisi energi untuk mencapai penurunan emisi yang nyata .
