Abstrak

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh faktor sosial seperti kepadatan penduduk serta faktor ekonomi seperti kemiskinan dan tingkat pengangguran terbuka terhadap kejahatan di sepuluh provinsi wilayah Sumatra selama periode 2020–2024 menggunakan data sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) dan metode regresi data panel Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan penduduk memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kejahatan, sedangkan kemiskinan dan pengangguran tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan. Implikasi dari studi ini menekankan pentingnya kebijakan multidimensi melalui pengelolaan pertumbuhan penduduk, intervensi pasar kerja untuk pemuda berisiko, perlindungan sosial yang lebih terarah, penguatan penegakan hukum berbasis masyarakat, dan integrasi sistem data lintas lembaga untuk mendukung pembangunan inklusif dan berkelanjutan di Sumatra.
