About the Journal

Focus and Scope

IT-Edu is a peer-reviewed, open-access research journal published by the Information Technology Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. As part of our commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation, IT-Edu serves as a platform for scholarly discussion and the dissemination of cutting-edge research in the field of educational technology.

Our journal focuses on the development, design, and application of learning technologies powered by information technology, particularly in the fields of Software Engineering, Game-Based Learning, and Computer Networks. We are especially interested in research that bridges theory and practice, offering impactful solutions and insights into the evolving landscape of technology-enhanced education.


Peer Review Process

Every submitted manuscript is evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • The originality of its contribution to the field of scholarly publishing

  • The relevance of theory and methodology to the topic

  • The coherence of its analysis

  • The clarity of communication with readers (language and grammar)

  • Adherence to the specified journal template

The normal turnaround time for manuscript evaluation is between three to seven working days from the date of submission.


Article Submission

  • Authors must create an account (or log in if they already have one)

  • Authors submit their manuscript

  • The journal editor checks if the article follows the required template

  • If it does, the article will be sent to reviewers for the peer review process

  • Reviewers send back their review comments

  • Authors revise the article based on the reviewers' feedback

  • Authors upload the revised manuscript

  • The editor checks whether the revision meets the reviewers’ comments

  • If approved, the author will receive a notification that the article is accepted along with the Letter of Acceptance (LoA)

Article publication follows scheduled issues in February, June, and October. The process from submission to receiving the LoA typically takes 1–3 weeks. Authors are advised to consider this timeline and avoid last-minute submissions, especially when tied to graduation or thesis deadlines.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
