Abstract

Verbal abuse of parents against children often occurs, especially at the age of 9-12 years. Verbal parental violence is any form of parental treatment that hurts or results in psychological harm to children. Even with the intention of educating or disciplining. Actions that cause harm to children are still considered violence. This study aims to examine and analyze and obtain a case study description of the impact of verbal violence in the family on the self-confidence  of children aged 9-12 years. The researcher uses a qualitative approach with a case study type using in-depth interview methods by means of researchers coming directly to the respondent’s house, especially parents who have  children aged around 9-12 years where researchers directly observe the process of the respondent’s daily activities, how the process of parents commiting violence verbal behavior to children, as well as children’s daily behavior in dealing with the surrondinf environment. The researcher presents the data not only through interviews, but also through participatory observation where the researcher foucuses on acase study that occured  in children 9 years old” who received vrbal abuse from his own parents. The results of the analysis of the impact of the parental verbal violence on the confidence of children aged 9-12 years, it was found that parental verbal violence had a significant impact, it was proven that children became confident about their surrondings and always felt afraid when they did something.
