Abstract

Abstract
This study aims to see an increase in students learning activity and output through the application of
Discovery Learning in the light vehicle engine maintenance subject at SMK Negeri 1 Bendo. This research
is included in Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. The subjects of this study were 35
students of class XI TKR. The data were collected using observation techniques by the teacher to observe
student behavior during the learning process, learning output tests function to measure the improvement of
students learning outcomes, and documentation as a support and reinforcement of observational data. The
results found in this research were that in the first cycle, the percentage of student learning activities
reached 47%, and in the second cycle, there was an increase to 82%. It means that there is an increase in
student activity in cycle II. Then, in the learning outcomes in cycle I, the average class score reached 69.8,
and the percentage of completeness was 50%. In cycle II, the average class score reached 75.5, and the
percentage of completeness reached 83%. It means that there is an increase in the percentage of learning
outcomes and completeness of students from the previous cycle
