Abstract

This study aims to produce a module that is suitable for use in teaching brake systems in the Automotive Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 1 Jabon. This type of research is developmental research. The research method used adopts the 4D development model (Four D Model), which consists of the stages of define, design, and develop. Disseminate stage was not conducted because this research was limited to testing the feasibility and effectiveness of the brake system trainer module.In this study, the respondents were 33 students in the Automotive Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 1 Jabon, while the validators were one lecturer from UNESA and two teachers from SMK Negeri 1 Jabon. The research instruments used to collect data were module validation questionnaires and learning outcome test sheets. Data analysis was carried out to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the brake system trainer module. Based on the research results, it was shown that the developed brake system trainer module is suitable for use in the subject of chassis and powertrain maintenance for light vehicles. This is evidenced by the results of the module validation by design experts, language experts, and material experts, which yielded an average score of 96.00% based on the criterion scale, placing it in the "highly feasible" category. The developed brake system trainer module also met the effectiveness criteria, as indicated by an improvement in student learning outcomes, with the percentage of students passing the pre-test being 27.20%, and the percentage passing the post-test reaching 87.80%.
