Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of a simulator based lighting system trainer for the Automotive Electricity subject at SMK Negeri 3 Buduran. The background of this study is the limitation of adequate practical media and the failure to achieve student learning completeness on lighting system material, as reflected in the average achievement of grade 12 students of 12%. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The results showed that the trainer media was deemed very suitable for use, with a validation percentage of 96% from media experts and subject matter experts. Learning completeness was achieved at 96.77%, with 30 out of 31 students reaching the minimum passing grade. Student response to the use of trainer media was also very positive, with a percentage of 93%. The developed simulator-based lighting system media trainer is deemed feasible as a learning medium in vocational schools and supports the improvement of learning completeness, student engagement, and problem solving skills in vehicle lighting system material.
