THE APPLICATION OF CANVA DIGITAL MEDIA IN BASIC MECHANICAL SYSTEMS LEARNING ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN MACHINING ENGINEERING SKILLS AT SMK NEGERI 13 SURABAYA

This study aims to determine the feasibility of Canva digital media, student response, and its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Mechanical Systems in the Machining Engineering competency at SMK Negeri 13 Surabaya. This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, which were still below the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM), and the limited use of interactive digital learning media. The research method used was quantitative with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 32 students in the 10th grade of Machining Engineering. The research instruments included pre-test and post-test to measure cognitive learning outcomes and a student response questionnaire. The instruments and learning tools were validated by experts before use. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively using N-Gain Score calculations.
The results of the study indicate that Canva digital media is suitable for use as a learning medium. Students' responses to the use of Canva digital media were positive, showing that this medium is interesting, easy to understand, and helps them understand the material. The improvement in student learning outcomes is shown by an N-Gain Score of 0.69 in the moderate category, which is classified as quite effective. Classical learning completeness reached 100%, where all students obtained a posttest score ≥ KKM. Thus, Canva digital media is declared feasible, receives positive responses, and is quite effective in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Mechanical Systems at SMK Negeri 13 Surabaya.
