Abstract

Learning at SMKN 3 Buduran is still dominated by the lecture method, resulting in low student activeness and less optimal learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the problem based learning model on students’ learning outcomes and their responses in the braking system subject for TKR students at SMKN 3 Buduran. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through pretests and posttests as well as student response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the implementation of the problem based learning model improved students’ learning outcomes compared to the lecture method and received positive responses from students.
