IMPLEMENTATION OF ONSHAPE LEARNING MEDIA TO IMPROVE CAD LEARNING OUTCOMES IN THE MACHINING ENGINEERING VOCATIONAL PROGRAM AT SMKN 2 SURABAYA

Abstract

Abstract

The development of digital technology and mobile learning in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has encouraged the use of cloud-based learning media to improve learning flexibility and effectiveness, particularly in vocational education. This study aims to determine the implementation of Onshape as a learning medium in improving CAD learning outcomes in the Machining Engineering program, as well as to describe student activities and responses during the learning process. This research employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class using Onshape as the learning medium and a control class using Autodesk Inventor. The research data were obtained through pretests and posttests to measure students’ learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test on N-Gain scores. The results showed that the significance value of the Mann–Whitney U test was 0.061 (> 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Onshape as a learning medium did not show a significant difference in improving learning outcomes compared to learning using Autodesk Inventor.
