DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING VIDEO MEDIA TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S LEARNING OUTCOMES IN THE SUBJECT OF MANUAL ARC WELDING TECHNIQUE ((SMAW) IN CLASS X OF SMK SEMEN GRESIK

Abstract

The learning process in the Welding Engineering department of Semen Gresik Vocational School has not yet utilized video instructional media. The purpose of this study was to determine student learning outcomes before and after being provided with video instructional media.

The research method used was a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The subjects were 12 10th-grade Welding Engineering students at Semen Gresik Vocational School. Data analysis used in the study was a media validation sheet, which analyzed both media and material to provide an overview of the recommendations suggested by the validator.

The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of video instructional media. The N-Gain test showed that student learning outcomes were in the moderate category.
