Abstract

Language skills, especially in learning German for students at the high school level, are a potential that can be learned gradually. Currently, German is a mandatory foreign language learning in several schools, but also many are included in the specialization category. Language skills are closely related to the learning process of students. The level of difficulty found in learning various foreign languages results in students' language skills being not optimal. Often in learning to write students find it difficult due to several factors that affect writing, namely vocabulary, ideas or ideas, as well as sentence patterns in writing or Grammatical. To write narratives in German requires individual ability to create ideas, ideas or essays, therefore requires time that is not short and is also balanced with practice in learning or in spare time. The Jigsaw method is applied with the aim of making it easier for students to learn. In this context, the individual's ability to write German in narrative form still experiences many mistakes. Students are required to be able to understand German writing well first. Mastery of material or learning topics is also very important and it is hoped that students can be creative, innovate, and express ideas or ideas in the form of narrative text. Therefore, the role of educators is also needed to improve the mastery of students' language skills. The application of Cooperative Learning can be an option in learning language skills. Jigsaw is a form of group-based learning method that can effectively assist students in learning, especially to improve writing skills in German. That way, it can allow students to learn together with other students and the ability to write narrative will be mastered more quickly.
