Abstract

Listening skills is one of the 4 language skills that require high concentration to be able to master it. And based on
research from the Chemnitz University of Technology conducted by Beatrice Wiemann who said that in addition to
speaking skills, listening skills are still difficult to master, especially in the teaching of communicative foreign
languages. So that additional teaching materials are needed that can be used to help teachers as well as students. One
additional teaching material in the form of audiovisual can be an option. One of them is Benjamin-Der
Deutschlehrer's Youtube channel which provides a wide variety of video materials with different levels of linguistic
difficulty. The source of the data in this article are 2 videos on the theme . Therefore, the formulation of the problem
obtained is how the content of YouTube Benjamin-Der Deutschlehrer themed Essen und Trinken as additional
teaching materials listening skills class XI semester 2? The purpose of this article is to describe the results of video
content suitability analysis as additional teaching materials listening skills. The method used is qualitative
descriptive and using literature study techniques and then analyzed in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum
2013. This article uses the theory of criteria for selection of teaching materials according to Dr. Sandra Schön and
Dr. Martin Ebner in Ralf Klötzke and reinforced with the theory of Cheppy Riyana from the results of literature
studies. The results obtained from the analysis is that this video is appropriate and can be used in learning German
listening skills high school
