Abstract

Listening skills are one of the four language skills that are related to one another. In the process, effective learning media are needed to achieve learning objectives. Audio visual in the form of video is an option. The video entitled “How to order drinks in German” from Youtube and the website www.easygerman.org is an online video that includes topics about daily life in Germany and also provides authentic learning materials to German learners around the world. The data source used is the Easy German video with the title “How to Order Drinks in German”. The data obtained in the form of conversational sentences with theme named Essen und Trinken. The method used is literature study and also content analysis. There are also subtitles in english and german so that it can make it easier for students. Therefore, this video can be an alternative for educators as a medium in delivering German listening skills learning material. The formulation of the problem in this scientific article is how the material fit in the easy german video “how to order drinks in german” with the 2013 Curriculum as a medium for learning German listening skills for class XI semester II. The purpose of this scientific article is to describe the suitability of the video material with the curriculum. Several theories were used and then studied in the preparation of this scientific article and used a qualitative approach to literature study and content analysis. The data that has been obtained is then validated by material experts with a percentage of 81%. The results of the video analysis are in accordance with the learning material for listening to the German language class XI semester II.
