Abstract

Listening skills are the ability to hear and understand the material presented by educators, but currently listening activities are still carried out in the conventional way. The selection of teaching materials in the form of YouTube videos can help educators find effective ways of learning to keep up with technological developments. This scientific article analyzes a video from the Hallo Deutschschule channel entitled Online Deutsch lernen / A1.1 Anfänger / sich vorstellen / das Alphabet / die Zahlen / Aussprache as teaching material for the kennenlernen theme. The formulation of the problem of this scientific article is how the content of the material on the Hallo Deutschschule video channel as teaching material for German listening skills for first semester X grade students with the 2013 Curriculum. The purpose of writing this scientific article is to help educators determine effective teaching materials for the kennenlernen theme and to describe the suitability of the Hallo Deutschschule video material as teaching material for German listening skills for first semester students of class X. This scientific article uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique uses the note-taking technique, while the data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques based on basic competencies, indicators and materials in the 2013 curriculum. The results of the analysis show that the percentage of conformity is 96% indicating that the Hallo Deutschschule video is very suitable for the 2013 curriculum and is suitable for use as teaching material for the Kennenlernen theme.
