Abstract

This study intends to ascertain the effectiveness of Quizwhizzer educational media to enhance vocabulary mastering
in German writing skills of students in class XI IBB SMAN 1 Waru Sidoarjo. Thistype of research is a one group
pretest-posttest design with the subjects being students of class XI IBB SMAN 1 Waru Sidoarjo, which amounted to
35 people. Data collection was carried out with a vocabulary writing test in German with the theme Wohnung, and
then the instrument validity test was calculated using the Pearson Product Moment formula. The results stated that
of the 25 items, all had a valid distribution. In addition, the reliability test results show a coefficient value of 0.855.
The normality test shows normal distribution data with a sign value of 0.141 and data analysis using the t test and the
N-Gain test. The result shows that t_count is 16.989 and t_table is 16.970, with a significance level of 0.05 and df
= 34 These results show that the value of t_count is greater than t_tabel, which means that there are differences in
the learning outcomes of vocabulary mastery in German writing skills by using Quizwhizzer educational media and
not using Quizwhizzer educational media. The average value (mean)of the pre-test is 47, and the average value (mean)
of the post-test is 78. Furthermore, the effectiveness test also shows a result of 0.7200 with high criteria. Based on
these results, it means that the use of Quizwhizzer educational media is more effective than conventional media in
learning vocabulary mastery for German writing skills.
