Abstract

Vocabulary mastery serves as the primary foundation in German language learning, acting as the basis for developing other language skills, particularly writing. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility of Augmented Reality (AR)-based flashcards for learning German vocabulary under the theme Schule for 11th-grade high school students. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, limited to the first three stages: Analysis, Design, and Development. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and validation sheets, then analyzed using a Likert scale and descriptive qualitative-quantitative methods. The results showed a feasibility percentage of 98% from media experts, categorized as "Highly Feasible," and 98% from material experts, categorized as "Feasible" with minor revisions. The developed media features A1-level vocabulary, interactive 3D visualizations, pronunciation audio (Aussprache), and Assemblr Edu-based QR codes. Consequently, it can be concluded that AR-based flashcards are feasible as an alternative for German vocabulary instruction, although further research is required to test their direct effectiveness on students.
