Reading comprehension (Leseverstehen) is one of the essential skills in learning the German language, as it plays an important role in understanding texts and enriching students’ vocabulary. However, low reading interest and the use of less interactive learning media have resulted in students’ reading skills still being relatively low. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of an interactive digital media called “Yeay Deutsch!” to improve German reading skills on the theme Die Schule for tenth-grade high school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D development model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The research instruments are validation sheets using a Likert scale, which are then analyzed descriptively both qualitatively and quantitatively. The developed media is based on PowerPoint Macro with the use of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), enabling interactive material presentation as well as quizzes with automatic scoring. In addition, this media can be accessed both offline and online, making it flexible for use in various learning conditions. The results of this study are expected to show that the “Yeay Deutsch!” media is feasible to be used as an innovative learning alternative to enhance students’ motivation and reading skills in learning the German language.
