The paper is entitled “The Effect of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) Learning Model
Assited by Flashcard Media on Vocabulary Mastery in German Reading Skills of Eleventh
Grade Studenst at SMA”. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant difference in students learning outcomes before and after being taught using TGT learning
model assisted by flashcard media in improving German vocabulary mastery, and to identify students responses toward the use of the model. The population of the study consisted of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 22 Surabaya, comprising three classes. The sample was taken from two classes, namely class XI-10 as the experimental group and class XI-8 as the control group, with 33 and 36 students non special needs respectively. This study employed a quasi-experimental design. The instruments used were pre-test, post-test, and observation sheets. The research was conducted in three meetings. The results showed that the significant value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.042, which is lower than 0.05 (0.042 < 0.05). With a t-observed value -2.01 and a degree of freedom (df) = 67. This indicates that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The finding were supported by the observation results, which indicated an increase in students engangement from first to the third meeting.
