ABSTRACT
Reading skills play an important role in the early stages of language learning, as they help students understand learning materials and expand their vocabulary. Based on this, this study aims to develop interactive learning media based on the ThingLink application to support German reading instruction on the Hobbys theme for eleventh-grade senior high school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method, referring to the ADDIE model, which was limited to three stages:
analysis, design, and development. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and validation sheets using a Likert scale. The data were then analyzed descriptively, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The validation results from material and media experts indicate that the developed media achieved a feasibility score of 88% and is categorized as feasible, although minorrevisions are still needed. The media was designed in accordance with the characteristics of beginner-level learners (A1), incorporating vocabulary, descriptive texts, as well as visual and audio elements. In addition, interactive features such as navigation buttons and automatic feedback are included to enhance student engagement during the learning process. In conclusion, this media can be used as an alternative tool in German language learning, particularly to support students in understanding descriptive texts. However, further research is needed to examine its effectiveness in real classroom settings.
