This study aims to Develop a project-based learning
model through the Deutsch Kochshow project to improve
German writing skills (Schreiben) at the A1 level among
eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Waru. The
background of this research is based on students’ low
writing ability, which is influenced by limited vocabulary,
insufficient understanding of sentence structure, and
the lack of engaging and contextual learning media. This
study employed a Research and Development
(R&D) method using the 4D Development model, which
includes the Define, Design, and Develop stages. The Developed
product is a Project-Based Learning instructional model
integrated with the Deutsch Kochshow project focusing on the
topic Essen und Trinken. The results indicate that the Developed
learning model has a high level of feasibility based on
expert validation. Furthermore, the implementation of the
Deutsch Kochshow project provides a more contextual learning
experience, increases student engagement, and assists students
in organizing ideas systematically in simple German written
texts. Therefore, the Project-Based Learning model through the
Deutsch Kochshow project is considered appropriate as an
alternative instructional strategy to improve German writing
skills at the beginner (A1) level.
