The Effectiviness Of Using Blooket Media On German Reading Comprehension Skills Among Eleventh-Grade Student At SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo

Abstract

The study was motivated by the low level of German reading comprehension skill among eleventh grade students, caused by limited vocabulary mastery, difficulties in understanding sentence structures, and the lack of varied learning media which reduced students’ participation and motivation during the learning process. Therefore, an interactive and engaging learning medium is needed to improve students’ German reading comprehension skills. One of the learning media that can be applied is Blooked, a game-based educational platform. The research problem of this study was whether the use of Blooket media is effective in improving German reading comprehension skills of eleventh grade students. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Blooket media on students’ German reading comprehension skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The sample consisted of 36 students of class XI-8 at SMA Negeri 1 Driyorejo. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments. The data analysis techniques included normality testing, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain effectiveness testing using SPSS. The findings revealed that the average pre-test score of 51.25 increased to 82.36 in the post-test. The result of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0,000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Furthermore, the N-Gain test result obtained an average score of 0.65 with a percentage of 65.06%, which was categorized as moderately effective. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Blooket media is effective in improving German reading comprehension skills of eleventh grade students.
