Manuscripts that violate this policy may be rejected or subjected to further editorial assessment.
Automated AI-detection results shall not be used as the sole basis for determining misconduct or making editorial decisions.
- Plagiarism Screening and Similarity Index Policy
MATHunesa: Jurnal Ilmiah Matematika is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scientific publishing.
All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening using Turnitin before proceeding to the peer-review process.
The journal establishes the following requirements:
- The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%, as measured using Turnitin.
- Similarity screening is conducted with the bibliography/references excluded (Exclude Bibliography) from the similarity calculation.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% must be revised by the authors to meet the journal's similarity requirements before proceeding to peer review.
- Revised manuscripts may undergo additional similarity screening to ensure compliance with the established threshold.
- Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, inappropriate citation practices, or unauthorized reproduction of previously published materials may be rejected regardless of their similarity index.
- The editorial team reserves the right to request clarification, revisions, or additional documentation to evaluate the originality and integrity of submitted manuscripts.
A similarity index of 25% or lower does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism.
The editorial team will evaluate the originality of each manuscript by considering both the Turnitin similarity report and the nature of the identified similarities.
The similarity index must not be interpreted as a measure of AI-generated content.
This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to MATHunesa: Jurnal Ilmiah Matematika.
