MENGUNGKAP PRAKTIK DEHUMANISASI PENDIDIKAN PADA SEKOLAH KAPITALIS: STUDI KASUS DI SMA NEGERI 5 SURABAYA

Abstract

Schools as places to study should be more friendly to students. But in reality, the practice of dehumanization still exixts. This study
aims to find forms of dehumanization in schools. SMA Negeri 5 Surabaya is the place chosen for the research location. The research
subjects were selected using the purposive method with the criteria, namely, active students of SMA N 5 Surabaya. The research uses
qualitative methods with the perspective of critical education theory. The result found that the practice of dehumanization in schools
still occurs because of the school culture that perpetuates the act of dehumanization. The deumanization of education that is rife, efforts
to submit by the school, students must strive for achievement, rank or class ranking becomes a priority, and indirectly students must be
“smart”.
