RE-DESIGN OF THE BRIDGE SUPER STRUCTURE USING PRESTRESSED CONCRETE-U GIRDER

Bridge is a building structure that connects transportation routes or trajectories that are separated by various obstacles, including rivers, highways, and other crossings. This research will plan the super structure of bridge by changing the type of girder to PCU Girder. The purpose of this study is to find out alternative selection of girder types with variations of PCU Girder type girders and also to determine the performance of bridge structures using PCU Girder. This research includes PCU girder cross-sectional analysis, bridge load calculation, number and layout of tendons determination, prestressed force loss, tension and deflection control, and also calculation of non-prestressed reinforcement. The result of this study is using girders with Prestressed Concrete-U type with a height of 1.4 m with the number of tendons attached to 1 girder is 6 pieces and 13 strands on each tendon, the effective prestressed force is 9547.315 kN, then the non-prestressed reinforcement is used 42D13 for bending reinforcement and D13-150 mm for sliding reinforcement. So this study has the conclusion that the PCU Girder type girder is safe to withstand all the loads acting on the bridge and can be chosen as one of the alternatives to selecting the girder type.
