A study on geopolymer concrete was conducted to analyze the impact of replacing simping shell powder with fly ash using a 6 Molar NaOH solution on the compressive strength and porosity of geopolymer concrete. The methodology applied was a laboratory experiment using a quantitative approach. Test samples in the form of concrete cylinders (10 cm × 20 cm) were made with three different mixture compositions: 0%, 15%, and 30% shell powder as a replacement for fly ash. The research findings show that replacing 15% of fly ash with simping shell powder can increase the average compressive strength to 52.79 MPa at 28 days, while reducing porosity to 3.78%. However, adding 30% simping shell powder results in a decrease in compressive strength and an increase in porosity. The study concluded that the optimal replacement rate of simping shell powder is 15% to enhance the performance of geopolymer concrete.
