Abstract

Vocational School is a vocational school that provides skills and competencies and also provides other general subjects such as arts and culture subjects. These subjects are taught theoretically and practically. The learning method that teachers often use is explaining the material without using media and then students are given assignments with limited material. Therefore, a solution or media is needed to overcome this. This research is 1) to know the learning process using the Maestro Application Media to make it easier to read notation in Class X at SMKN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. 2) Want to know the results of learning using Maestro Application Media to make it easier to read notation in Class X at SMKN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo?

This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an empirical approach. A research method that attempts to describe real-world situations as they are. The primary data source in the research was interviews with class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. Documents and notes on learning outcomes, such as archival data documents, documentation, and data from research, are secondary data used. The subjects of this research were students of class The data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation.

The results of the research and conclusions, at the first meeting, many students said that when they were in junior high school they were only given numeric and letter notation material. Then the teacher gives the task of finding literacy about notation using a smartphone or searching Google. In the second meeting, after reviewing the material, the teacher instructed the students to write block notation using the paper provided, but the results were less than perfect. In the third meeting, the students were given the task of installing the Maestro application on their respective smartphones. The teacher explained and guided the practice of the maestro application little by little. The students were happy and were able to apply it in reading notation. The conclusion is that with the maestro application, students enjoy learning and can make it easier to read notation.
