PENERAPAN METODE DEMONSTRASI PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran IPA diharapkan dapat menarik minat dan perhatian siswa melalui proses pembelajaran yang menarik pula. Sementara kenyataan, pembelajaran IPA yang dilakukan hanya berpusat pada guru. Guru hanya menggunakan metode ceramah dengan keterlibatan siswa yang sangat minim, sehingga kurang menarik minat siswa dan membuat siswa bosan yang akhirnya siswa mudah lupa terhadap konsep yang telah diberikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, peneliti akan menerapkan metode demonstrasi pada pembelajaran IPA di kelas V SDN Pagertanjung I Ploso. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa melalui penerapan metode demonstrasi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan dalam dua pertemuan. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan melalui 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN Pagertanjung I Ploso Jombang. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes. Data hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa dianalisis dalam bentuk persentase. Data tes hasil belajar siswa dianalisis berdasarkan persentase ketuntasan belajar secara individu dan klasikal kemudian dijabarkan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan persentase hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN Pagertanjung I Ploso Jombang. Aktivitas guru mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 25%, terlihat pada siklus I dengan persentase 68% menjadi 93% pada siklus II. Persentase aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebanyak 71% menjadi 91% pada siklus II, mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 20%. Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I  rata-rata nilainya 66,9 dengan persentase 67% meningkat rata-rata nilainya menjadi 81,6 dengan persentase 82%. Hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 14,7%. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkakan hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, guru harus lebih kreatif dalam menggunakan metode pembelajaran, agar pembelajaran lebih bermakna bagi siswa sehingga membuat hasil belajar siswa menjadi meningkat.

Abstract: Science learning is expected to attract interest and attention of students through the learning process interesting anyway. While the reality, learning science is done only based on the teacher. Teachers only use the lecture method with student involvement was minimal, making it less attract students and make students bored easily forget that ultimately the students to the concepts that have been given . To overcome this problem, researchers will apply the demonstration method on science learning in fifth grade of Pagertanjung I State Elementary School. This study aims to improve student learning results, describing the activity of teacher and student activities through the application of methods of demonstration. This type of research is action research that consists of 2 cycles. Each cycle was conducted in two meetings. Each cycle is carried out through four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were all students of fifth grade in Pagertanjung I State Elementary School Districk of Ploso Regency of Jombang. The data in this study was obtained through observation and tests. Data resulting from the activity of the teacher and student observations analyzed in terms of percentage. Student achievement test data were analyzed based on the percentage of mastery learning individually and then classically described descriptively. The results showed an increase in the percentage of student learning results of Pagertanjung I State Elementary School Districk of Ploso Regency of Jombang. Teacher activity increased by 25%, seen in the first cycle with the percentage of 68% to 93% in the second cycles. The percentage of students in the first cycle activity as much as 71% to 91 % in the second cycles, has increased by 20%. While the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle an average value of 66.9 with a percentage of 67 % average increase in value to 81.6 with a percentage of 82 % . Student learning results increased by 14.7 %. Based on the obtained results it can be concluded that the application of the method can be improved its demonstration of student learning results. Therefore, teachers need to be more creative in the use of learning methods, so the learning is more meaningful for students so as to make the results of student learning is increased.
