Abstract

The Jaranan Jur performance is a traditional art form that developed in several regions of Java, including Blitar, which depicts a combination of dance, music, and theatrical arts. In this context, the cultural values of Panji play a very important role, especially in depicting the values of heroism, courage, and loyalty. Panji, a legendary figure in Javanese folklore, is often interpreted symbolically in the Jaranan Jur performance, both through the characters that appear and the messages contained in the stories presented. This study aims to explore more deeply how the cultural values of Panji are adapted and translated in the Jaranan Jur performance, and how the performance functions as a medium to preserve and disseminate Javanese cultural values to the younger generation. Using a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the elements of the performance that reflect these values, as well as their impact on society and artists. The results are expected to contribute to the understanding of the diversity of artistic expression in the context of Javanese culture and the importance of preserving local cultural heritage.
