KESENIAN BANTENGAN MOJOKERTO KAJIAN MAKNA SIMBOLIK DAN NILAI MORAL

Abstract

Bantengan Folk Art is art cultural performances sendra tradition that combines elements of dance, kanuragan, music, and poetry / spells are very thick with the feel magical. The show will be more interesting if it has been entered trance stage, where players Bantengan ancestors had possessed Bull (Dhanyangan). Traditional Art Bantengan Mojokerto adopt martial arts movement. The study answers the research question of the meaning of the symbolic and moral values, and the role of society in preserving the arts Bantengan Mojokerto. This research used purposive sampling or sampling in accordance with the issues that will be examined, followed by a grounded research approach and direct observations. The results of this study concluded that Bantengan has symbolic meaning as a depiction of indigenous resistance embodied in the bull, the invaders are realized in the form of macanan. Art bantengan also contains moral values that this art is communal, that involves lots of people in each show. This culture that shape the behavior of people engaged in it to live always in communality, kinship, mutual assistance, and simplicity.
