Abstract

This research is a type of quantitative research using comparative experimental research methods or comparative research by comparing two independent variables. This study aims to look for differences in application between the project-based learning model (PjBL) and the problem-based learning model (PBL) in increasing the interest in learning history of students of SMAN 7 Surabaya. The location of this research is SMA Negeri 7 Surabaya, which is located on Jl. Ngaglik No.27-29, Kapasari, Kec. Genteng, SBY City, East Java 60273. The research proposal was prepared from November 2019 to the implementation of the research in March-May 2020 during the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year with subjects in this study namely XI MIA 1 class with 34 students as class PjBL models and class XI IIS 2 totaling 35 students as PBL classes. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire or questionnaire and observation sheets of student learning achievement. Analysis of the data in this study using the T test or Independent sample t-Test, with the test requirements for normality and homogeneity. Based on the results of the test requirements that have been conducted by researchers in both groups, showing the data is homogeneous and normally distributed. Obtained Kolmogorov-Smirnov test results with H1 dataspecifications received with a value of sig> α = 0.05, note the value of sig = 0.8> 0.05. Based on the hypothesis testing that has been done shows the differences in the average interest in learning history of students, which are tested through the Independent sample T-test. The results of the final data analysis after conducting a comparison test between the two classes, obtained data that the PjBL class is higher than the PBL class with a score of 74% for the PjBL model and 68% for the PBL model.
Keywords: project based learning (PjBL), problem based learning (PBL), interest student in learning history
