Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 to 2021 the teaching and learning process was carried out online. All lessons experience problems in carrying out learning well, including in the lessons themselves which in fact aim not only to provide factual knowledge but also to shape the character of students. This will be difficult to do maximally during online learning. Meanwhile, a good learning process is getting a positive response from students. So it is very necessary to do research with the aim of knowing students' perceptions of the effectiveness of online learning, especially in history lessons. This is because students' perceptions and responses can influence positive and negative attitudes in learning. The method used is a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that most of the students 'perceptions of SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya regarding the effectiveness of learning history online have a sufficient level, this is evident from the calculation of data analysis from all aspects such as requirements, determining factors for the success of online learning and the effectiveness of learning history that students' perceptions reach 88% or as many as 155 students from 176 students were categorized as sufficient. While the percentage of students' perceptions in the positive category was 8% or as many as 14 students and the negative category was only 4% or as many as 7 students. For the very positive and very negative categories, the perception of students of SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya was 0%. There was also an average UTS score for history lessons of 85.48. It can be concluded that students of SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya have sufficient perceptions about online history learning in their schools.
