PEMIKIRAN MODERN ISLAM DALAM PARTAI MASYUMI TAHUN 1945 -1960

Abstract

In Indonesia, the thought of modernism or Islamic renewal is one of the influences. One of its forms is in the politics of the founding of the Masjumi Party, and in politics it is heavily influenced by Islamic modernism. The purpose of this study is to analyze modern Islamic thought in the Masjumi party in 1945-1960. The research method uses historical research methods; heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, historiography. Using primary sources in the form of the Draft Constitution of the Republic (Islamic) of Indonesia, submitted by the Masjumi faction, two documents from the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Indonesia "Parties in Indonesia" in 1951 and "Parties and Parliamentarians" in 1954, and "Guidelines for the Masyumi Struggle" Secretariat of the Masjumi Party Leadership Section for Information 1954. Secondary sources include Deliar Noer, the Islamic Party on the National Stage, and Remy Madinier Masjumi Party: Between the Temptation of Democracy and Integral Islam which were obtained in libraries, private collections, and archives of former Masyumi members. The results of this study are the concepts of thought and politics in modern Islamic studies such as the importance of ijtihad to combine the heritage of Islamic values with the principles of modern science, the rejection of absolute forms of government and the idea of a democratic form of government through a constitutional council and a representative body for separation. spiritual power of religion with state power. Regarding Human Rights and Civil Rights, Masyumi stated that the state must guarantee human rights in the social, economic and political fields in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the recognition of the equal status of women in politics, social and economics with men.
