KESENIAN TOPENG DALANG SUMENEP TAHUN 2000-2010 (NILAI SEJARAH DAN BUDAYA TERHADAP PERILAKU MORAL MASYARAKAT)

Abstract

Local art is now beginning to be pressed by the influence of foreign cultures. This of course will have a setback for the sustainability and values of local arts. To overcome this, it is necessary to preserve local arts. Research on the Mask Art of the Dalang Sumenep 2000-2010 (Group Mask Dalang Sekar Utomo) is still minimal, so from this background this research was conducted. Through this problem, the research objectives have been compiled: (1) To find out the causes of fame in the early 2000s and dimming in 2010 about the popularity of the Dalang Sekar Utomo Mask Group (2) To find out how the development of the Dalang Sekar Utomo Mask Group in 2000-2010.
This study uses a historical research method which consists of four stages, including: (1) Heuristics, is a procedure for finding and finding various sources needed in historical research; (2) Source criticism, is a process of testing the credibility and authenticity of the source, as well as the relevance of a historical source; (3) interpretation or interpretation, namely the stage of finding the relationship between facts by analyzing andinterpreting so as to obtain a systematic flow; (4) Historiography, is the stage of writing research results arranged in chronological order and analysis.
The results of the study concluded that the masked arts of the Sumenep puppeteers, especially the Masked Group of the Dalang Dalang Sekar Utomo, is the Group of the Dalang Mask Studio located in Pinggir-papas & Karanganyar Villages, which was previously led by Mr. Sasmito and now belongs to his son, Mr. Abdurrahman. The beginning of the fame of the group masked dalang Sekar Utomo in the early 2000s was caused by the public's preference for wayang stories. As well as its decline at the end of 2010 due to a lack of attention and support for the art of the puppeteer mask dance. The Dalang Sekar Utomo Mask Group from 2000 to 2010 experienced developments in terms of the number of members, the number of performances, and the amount of annual income.
