PERAN K.H. MUCHAMAD DUMAMI DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN PONDOK PESANTREN MAMBA’UL HIKMAH KABUPATEN NGAWI PADA TAHUN 2010-2016

Abstract

Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic boarding school is a boarding school located in Kerten hamlet, Teguhan village, Paron sub-district, Ngawi district. Since the establishment of this pesantren, the students will only take religious education. However, progress in the world of formal education is one of the problems faced by the Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School, where there is no formal education in Islamic boarding schools to broaden general knowledge. This resulted in the number of students in Islamic boarding schools experiencing a decline and choosing to study in public schools. This study discusses (1) How is the background of the establishment of the Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic boarding school; (2) How is the policy carried out by K.H. Muchamad Dumami in developing the Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a historical research method that consists of 4 stages, namely the first stage of heuristics by collecting primary sources from interviews with caregivers and/or pesantren administrators, as well as archives of Islamic boarding school documents. The second stage is source criticism by verifying the authenticity of the sources that have been obtained. The third stage is interpretation by analyzing facts from several sources that have been obtained. The fourth stage is historiography, the final stage of a research by compiling historical writing chronologically and sequentially according to the research to be discussed. Research results regarding the role of K.H. Muchamad Dumami in developing the Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic boarding school in Ngawi district in 2010-2016 discussed starting from the life history of a kiai from childhood to now being a stakeholder in the Mamba'ul Hikmah Islamic boarding school, also discussing the dynamics of the development of pesantren with existing problems that are able to encourage K.H. Muchamad Dumami implemented a policy strategy of establishing formal education in Islamic boarding schools in order to advance education in pesantren so that theyare not left behind and keep abreast of existing developments. The leadership of K.H. Muchamad Dumami has also succeeded in developing the source of the cottage economy as well as socio-cultural development in the surrounding environment.
