DINAMIKA INDUSTRI KULINER WINGKO BABAT “LOE LAN ING” PADA TAHUN 1998 – 2019

Abstract

Lamongan is a small town in East Java which has a lot of cultural and historical values that have become ancestral heritage in the past. There is a diversity of cultural richness that exists and is owned by the Lamongan community, one of the diversity of these products is in the field of traditional food culinary. Culinary in Lamongan goes according to its development, in every community there are distinctive cultural characteristics that can distinguish cultures from one another, such as only in one Lamongan city, namely in the Babat sub-district, traditional food culinary in Babat which is already well known in the community both in the city Lamongan and tourists as well as people outside the area, namely Wingko Babat. Omah wingko Babat “Loe Lan Ing” is the oldes Babat wingko company in Babat. And Ibu Olivia, who is the successor of her ancestors and now the fifth generation, explained that Wingko Babat “Loe Lan Ing” has been around since the Dutch era. Starting in the 20th century, there were people of Chinese descent who started a home industry in the form of wingko Babat. The name of this wingko in the market is "LLI" according to the source of the wingko packaging in 1898. And in fact the manufacture of wingko and the existence of this shop has been since the colonial period which is more than 100 years old. Wingko shop "Loe Lan Ing" is located at Jalan Raya Babat No.189. This study discusses (1) how the history of the establishment of the wingko Babat “loe lan ing” culinary industry in 1998 – 2019. (2) how the development of the wingko Babat “loe lan ing” culinary industry in 1998 – 2019. (3) The influence of life social and economic conditions of the Babat community with the existence of the “loe laning” wingko Babat industry. This study uses historical research methods using four stages. The first stage of heuristics is that the sources are obtained directly through interviews with owners and employees of the Wingko Loe Laning factory, besides that the sources are also obtained from the Lamongan Regency industrial information system and the Lamongan Regency statistical agency. The second stage is source criticism by testing and verifying the sources that have been obtained. In this external criticism, the researcher tests the validity of the sources that have been obtained by looking at the aspects of the sources that have been obtained based on experience and also direct involvement of the process both in terms of creation, publication and other developments in the period 1998 – 2019 according to the time limit we took.. The third stage is the interpretation of the data obtained and then connected to the related facts. The fourth stage is Historiography in which the results of the interpretation of the previous stages are assembled into one so as to produce a complete historical fact. The result of this research is that the development of the Babat wingko industry has had a positive influence on the economy and livelihoods of the Babat community in 1998 - 2019, including for social life itself there is community labeling with the naming of the city of Babat known as the city of wingko so this is immortalized. With the establishment of the Wingko Monument, which is very strategically located, in the middle of a roundabout which is crossed by five vehicle lanes, namely Gotong Royong Street, Jombang Street, Bojonegoro Street, and Tuban Street, East Java. In addition, for this economic life, it can reduce unemployment, as an economic driver and create new business fields as evidenced by the number of wingko producers in Babat as many as 36 producers.
