DINAMIKA LEMBAGA KURSUS BAHASA EFFECTIVE ENGLISH CONVERSATION COURSE DI KAMPUNG INGGRIS PARE TAHUN 1992-1998

Abstract

The Effective English Conversation Course is a language course institution that was founded on the advice of Mr. Kalend because students were not absorbed in the Basic English Course. The objectives of this study are: 1) Explaining the background of the establishment of the Effective English Conversation Course, 2) Describe the development of the Effective English Conversation Course in 1992-1998, 3) Analyzing the socio-economic and educational impact of the existence of the Effective English Conversation language course institution. Course for the local community in 1992-1998. This study uses historical methods which include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The primary sources in this research are interviews with the founders of the Effective English Conversation Course, the List of Community Education Education Units (DIKMAS) in Pare District issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as contemporary newspapers such as Kompas. Then secondary sources include books, articles, theses and scientific journals related to the Effective English Conversation Course in Kampung Inggris Pare in 1992-1998. The results of the research show that EECC has developed quite rapidly because of the methods, curriculum, programs and facilities provided. attract students' interest. However, in 1998 the EECC institution experienced a decline in the number of students caused by the economic crisis and the competition with other language course institutions. These problems are overcome by improving the quality of service and promotion. The impact of the development of the EECC institution can be seen from the increase in English language skills in the surrounding community, the shift in the livelihoods of the surrounding community due to new job opportunities and new business opportunities and making the Tulungrejo Village community more modern.
