Abstract
In daily learning practices, teachers often use conventional media, causing boredom and decreasing student
interest in learning. Therefore, teachers are expected to continue to develop creative and innovative learning media,
such as comics, so as to create a more dynamic and effective learning environment. The purpose of this study is to find
out the effect of histomic media on the learning process (PBM) in the history subject of class XI IPA at SMAN Ploso
and analyze the percentage of histomic media implementation on students' critical thinking skills in the history subject
of class XI IPA at SMAN Ploso. This type of research is quantitative with the True Experimental Design method, which
adopts a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study is the students of class XI IPA at SMAN
Ploso. Data collection techniques in this study include questionnaires, learning test results, observation,
documentation, and interviews. The results of the study showed that the use of historical comics media had a significant
positive impact on students' critical thinking skills, such as asking questions. Historical comics help students
understand historical events in a more interesting and understandable way. Then, this comic also makes it easier for
students to develop their critical thinking skills in a more systematic and logical way. However, this study also found
that there are still many students who do not have adequate critical thinking skills.
