PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING DENGAN BANTUAN MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 20 SURABAYA

Abstract

In Indonesia, education is the focus of attention and continues to be improved through various efforts. In the
current era, developments require an increase in the quality of the individual. In fulfilling their role as educators in
developing students' abilities, educators are expected to be able to plan student development and distribute the material
presented well. Learning history is considered boring and of little interest to students. This is because learning history
involves memorization and covers a fairly wide range of material. In Indonesia, the educational curriculum continues to
develop and undergo evolution until now it is an independent curriculum. In curriculum development, it requires the
development of students' critical thinking skills. One learning model that requires students to be active in learning is the
Discovery Learning learning model. The material provided in using the Discovery Learning learning model is not final
material, but students are encouraged to identify what they know. Of course, the learning process of the Discovery
Learning model does not run alone. The Discovery Learning learning model is assisted by learning media to encourage
this learning. The model used is the audiovisual model. Collaboration between the Discovery Learning learning model
with the help of audiovisual media to develop students' critical thinking skills. The type of research used in this research
is a quantitative approach by applying experimental methods. The design in this research uses pre-experimental research
design with one group pretest-posttest and cluster sampling technique. The research results show that there is a significant
influence in the use of the Discovery Learning learning model with the help of audiovisual media on students' critical
thinking abilities. proven by the results of the pre-test and post-test, there was an increase in scores from the test results
that students took and responses from student response questionnaires.
