PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE DEMONSTRASI DAN WAYANG KARDUS TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SEJARAH PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X-1 SMA NEGERI 1 SURABAYA
Abstract
This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the History subject. After the analysis, it was
found that the educators still apply the teacher-centered learning method and the lack of history learning methods and
media. Based on the learning style test results, most students had a visual and audio learning style. Hence, we required
another method that captivates and can provide a visual representation of the presented material. This inspired the writer
to conduct research entitled The Influence of Using Demonstration Methods and Cardboard Puppet Media on the History
Learning Outcomes of Class X-1 Students at SMA Negeri 1 Surabaya. This study used a quantitative approach with a
Quasi-Experimental research type and a non-equivalent control group design research design, namely research that used
Experiment class and Control class samples. In this study, class X-1 was the experimental class and class X-4 was the
control class. The research results show that the Solah Wetan Arts Community has experienced an increase in the number
of students, growing from 60 people in 2009 to 100 people in 2013. The preservation process involves protective measures
such as special training in Ponorogo Reyog art. The community also focuses on costume development, peacock dhadhak,
stories, music and classroom development. Utilization efforts are made by using it as a means of entertainment,
educational means, building community identity and cultural festivals. Overall, the Solah Wetan Arts Community has
played an important role in preserving and promoting Reyog Ponorogo art.
