DINAMIKA PABRIK GULA NGADIREDJO DI KABUPATEN KEDIRI PADA MASA KOLONIAL BELANDA TAHUN 1930-1942
Abstract
Ngadiredjo sugar factory was founded by NV HVA Nederland Verniging Handels Verniging Amsterdam in 1912
precisely in Jambean Village, Kras District, Kab. Kediri, East Java. The strategic location is in Kediri Regency, close to
themountains and also crossed by the Brantas River, to get to the city it is also close and also right in front of the factory
is the national transportation route or arterial route that connects Kediri Regency with the Tulungagung area. In the
colonial period, to be precise, 1930-1942, the factory experienced interesting dynamics to study, starting from the crisis
period until it started to return to its heyday. The impact of the establishment of Ngadiredjo sugar factory is also
numerous, ranging from positive impacts to negative impacts. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature using
historical research methods starting from collecting relevant data sources, criticizing sources, interpreting sources with
the data obtained, and rewriting them using historiographic methods in the form of factual and chronological
descriptions. The results of this research reveal how the process of sustaining the Ngadiredjo Sugar Factory during the
colonial period and also the impact of the factory on the surrounding community, especially Kab. Kediri. This is
confirmed by the factory findings that researchers obtained in the factory library, at the East Java Archives Service, and
also most often found at P3GI Pasuruan.
