Abstract
Martial arts student athletes have a variety of tasks and demands to achievement in sports, and are required to balance academic duty. Long-term training, potential for injury, getting achievements, doing assignments, and getting good grades are some of the conditions that can potentially cause stress for student athletes. So that protective factors are needed in dealing with conditions that can cause stress, one of which is having hardiness. This study has a purpose to see the relationship between.hardiness with.stress. The research method used is correlational quantitative. The population in this study was 95 student martial arts athletes, this research was conducted in Blitar by involving 65 student martial arts athletes as respondents. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Pearson product moment correlation technique which obtained a correlation value of -0.292 with a significance value of 0.018. These results indicate that the higher the hardiness, the lower the stress, conversely the lower the hardiness, the higher the stress. Researchers used data analysis techniques with the pearson product moment correleation which obtained a correlation value 0f -0.292 with a significance value is 0,018. Hardiness in this study contributed 8.5% to stress and 91.5% stress was influenced by other factors.
