Abstract

ABSTRACT
Curriculum 2013 is the development of the previous curriculum which concerns much on the student enrichment and balance between soft skill and hard skill, includes attitude competence, skills, and knowledge. It is obvious that if students with special need students come to the inclusive school, they absolutely must also have to perform curriculum 2013, includes the mathematic class, as the regular-class students.
The objective of this study is to describe the implementation of curriculum 2013 in mathematic class for students with special need in SMP 4 Sidoarjo. The focus of this study is on the instructional material, difficulties, and the solution provided in implementing curriculum 2013 for the special need students in mathematic class.
In this study, the approach used is descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview and documentation as the technique in obtaining the data. Then, the data is analyzed by using three steps; they are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing (verification). To ensure the data is valid, the triangulation is applied in this study.
Moreover, the finding of this study shows that the implementation of curriculum 2013 in mathematic class for the special need students in SMPN 4 Sidoarjo is 1) The instructional material used for the special need students has been modified. The modification is applied in basic competence (KD), indicator, syllabus, and lesson plan. 2) The first obstacle is that the teacher gets difficulties in using the information technology which is related to the special need students (such as Jaws Program), the second obstacle is about the participation of the students in the teaching and learning process which required the special need students to be actively participated in the class. Besides, the scoring system also becomes one of the difficulties that the teachers must deal with since it is more complicated than that of the previous curriculum; and requirement to reach the scientific approach is another problem that the teacher must cope. 3) Considering those difficulties, the solutions take by both headmaster and the teachers to solve the problem are giving information to the teacher or conducting workshop or training to give deep overview how to develop the appropriate technology for the special need students, modifying the teaching learning process into fun learning which involves the regular-class student to help the teaching and learning in mathematic class for the special need students, and optimizing the scientific approach which easily done by the special need students.
