METODE BERCERITA TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KOSA KATA BAHASA INDONESIA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA

ABSTRACT
Based on the observation in SDLB Purworejo Pasuruan to the second class of mild mentally retardation children it was obtained that mild mentally retardation children had serious problem i.e. there was not creation of communication custom with Indonesian yet. Indonesian vocabulary and usage is still low. The mild mentally retardation children generally preferred using Javanese / dialog language in communicating with either schoolmates or teachers.
This research had purpose to analyze and know the influence of telling story method toward the enhancement of Indonesian vocabulary to the second class of mild mentally retardation children in SDLB Purworejo Pasuruan. This research used “pre experiment” kind with arrangement “one group pretest posttest design”. The data collection method used test method and the technique of data analysis used statistic non parametric with sign test formula.
From the pretest result the average value was 45,78 and then they were given treatment 6 times. Then the children were given posttest the average value was 81,48. The average value of pretest and posttest indicated that there was value change to be better and the ability level to recognize colors enhanced. Based on the value, it was then analyzed by sign test formula ZH with Ztable 5% two sides test 1,96. ZH value obtained in counting was ZH = 2,04 > Ztable 5% 1,96. It proved that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted so that it could be concluded that direct learning had significant influence toward the ability of Indonesian vocabulary to the second class of mild mentally retardation children in SDLB Purworejo Pasuruan.
