MODIFIKASI PERMAINAN PAPAN KREASI MAGNETIK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN
Abstract: A mentally retardation had intelligence obstacle which caused obstruction in social development, academic, and language development. The reading ability was one of the language skills. The mild mentally retardation children’s reading skill was low. Reading difficulty could be experienced by the children if they did not have good memory about alphabet especially to mild mentally retardation children. One of the efforts to enhance reading ability of mild mentally retardation children was using the media of magnetic board game because this media of magnetic board game could help children in learning reading words. This research had purpose to know the influence of the media of magnetic board game toward reading ability of the third class mild mentally retardation children in SDLBN Trenggalek regency. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experimental arrangement, and one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this research was the third class students of mentally retardation in SDLBN Panggungsari Durenan Trenggalek which numbered 6 people. The data collection used test to know the result of reading words ability before and after doing intervention. The data analysis used sign test formula. The research result indicated that there was score enhancement of reading ability. Pretest was 45,28 becoming 72,23 in posttest. Z table 5% in two sides test was 1,96. Zh value obtained was 2,05 so that null hypothesis was refused and work hypothesis was accepted. Based on the explanation above it could be concluded that there was significant influence using the media of magnetic board game toward reading ability of the third class mild mentally retardation children in SDLBN Trenggalek regency.
