MODEL PEMBELAJARAN ROLE PLAYING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BAHASA EKSPRESIF ANAK TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN

Abstract

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research were to examine, observe, and evaluate the expressive language ability of mild mentally retardation children before and after giving intervention using the learning model of role playing. The subject of this research was all students of class III in SLB-C Dharma Wanita Lebo Sidoarjo numbering 6 students. The instruments used in this research were 1) scenario sheet which would be used in the learning model of role playing, 2) pre test assessment sheet with expressive language, and 3) post test assessment sheet with expressive language. This research used pre experiment kind and one group pre test – post test design. The time applied was eight times meeting with once pre test, six times interventions and one post test, with six mentally retardation children. The data collection technique was done by test, observation, and documentation in the form of photo. The data analysis technique in this research was statistic non parametric using sign test analysis. The research result was analyzed using sign test formula, it was obtained Z counted (Zh), 2,05 while Z table value was in 5% significant for two sides test (Zt = 1,96) so that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted (1,96<2,05>1,96). 

In this way, this research could be concluded that the learning model of role playing had influence toward expressive language ability to mentally retardation children.
