Abstract

IMPLEMENTASI PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PPKn BAGI SISWA TUNAGRAHITA DI SLB NEGERI JOMBANG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran PPKn bagi siswa tunagrahita di kelas III SLB Negeri Jombang. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik juga diterapkan bagi siswa tunagrahita. Karena siswa tunagrahita juga memerlukan pembelajaran dengan kegiatan 5M yaitu mengamati, menanya, menalar, mencoba, dan mengkomunikasikan.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik observasi non partisipan, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti yang dibantu dengan pedoman wawancara dan pedoman observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi.

Berdasarkan analisa data yang telah diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran PPKn telah dilaksanakan namun belum optimal. Guru juga mampu menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa tunagrahita dalam pembelajaran PPKn dengan pendekatan saintifik. Meski demikian ada beberapa kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran diantaranya kemampuan dan karakteristik siswa yang berbeda-beda, kondisi kelas yang tidak kondusif serta tidak adanya media pembelajaran yang menunjang pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik. Namun, berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa guru mampu mengatasi kendala-kendala tersebut dengan baik.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCIENTIFIC APPROACH IN LEARNING CIVILIZATION FOR MENTALLY RETARDATION STUDENTS IN STATE SLB JOMBANG

This research had purpose to describe the implementation of scientific approach in learning civilization for the third class of mentally retardation students in state SLB Jombang. Learning by scientific approach was also applied for mentally retardation students because they also needed learning by 5M activity i.e. observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and communicating.

This research used qualitative approach. The data collection was done by non-participant observation technique, deep interview, and documentation. The research instrument was the observer who was assisted by interview and observation guidelines. The data was analyzed using the analysis technique of Miles and Huberman involving data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification.

Based on the data analysis which had been obtained, it indicated that the implementation of scientific approach in learning civilization had been implemented but it was not optimum yet. The teachers could also grow the interest learning of mentally retardation students in learning civilization by scientific approach. In spite of this, there were several problems faced in learning process such as the variety students’ abilities and characteristics, not conducive class condition, and there was not any learning media supporting the learning implementation by scientific approach. However, based on the research result, the teachers could solve the problems well.
