PENGARUH STRATEGI STORY MAPPING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN TEKS NARASI ANAK TUNARUNGU DI SLB HARMONI GEDANGAN – SIDOARJO

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan siswa tunarungu dalam pengembangan ketrampilan berbahasa. Khususnya dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang cenderung rendah,demikian juga dalam membaca pemahaman teks narasi. Strategi story mapping merupakan salah satu strategi yang dapat melatih siswa untuk memahami teks narasi. Dalam penelitian ini strategi story mapping digunakan sebagai treatment membaca pemahaman anak tunarungu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi story mapping terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi siswa tunarungu.

Pendekatan kuantitatif jenis pre eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pre – test post – test design diterapkan pada 7 siswa tunarungu di SLB Harmoni Gedangan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Data diolah menggunakan analisis Wilcoxon Match Pair Test.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata – rata pre – test sebesar 53,4 dan nilai rata – rata post – test sebesar 67,7 dengan perlakuan sebanyak 6 kali. Hasil analisis Zhitung (2,30) > Ztabel (1,96) dalam taraf signifikansi 0.025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hipotesis kerja (Ha) diterima artinya ada pengaruh strategi story mapping terhadap kemampuan membaca teks narasi anak tunarungu di SLB Harmoni Gedangan – Sidoarjo.

This research was set background by hearing impairment students’ necessity in developing speech skill, especially in developing reading comprehension ability which tended low and also in reading comprehension of narration text. The story mapping strategy was also one of the strategies which could train the students to understand the narration text. In this research, the story mapping strategy was used as the treatment of reading comprehension for hearing impairment students which had purpose to know the influence of story mapping strategy toward reading comprehension of narration text ability to hearing impairment students.

The quantitative approach of pre experiment kind with one group pre test – post test design was applied to 7 hearing impairment students in SLB Harmoni Gedangan. The technique of data collection used test. The data was processed by using analysis of Wilcoxon Match Pair Test.

The research result indicated that the average value of pre test was 53.4 and the average value of post test was 67.7 with 6 times treatment. The analysis result was Z counted (2.30) > Z table (1.96) in significant level 0.025. The research result indicated that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted it meant that there was influence of story mapping strategy toward reading narration text ability to hearing impairment children in SLB Harmoni Gedangan – Sidoarjo.
