Abstract

Abstract: Children mental retardation in special schools Santi Mulia Surabaya have difficulty in learning mathematics. So that the average mathematics learning outcomes in very low sum arithmetic operations under KKM with an average rating of 50. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a pattern cycle of planning, action, observation and reflection. Analysis of data using an analysis based on the cycles of reflection. The data analysis was done in stages, with the first selection, the second describes the data and concluded the third. After intervention by the media given the mediated image sequence Arithmetic sequence number value of the child named RMS 69, AND 67, EYA 69, ADR 70 and MNK 67. From these results it can be seen that the highest value obtained by ADR, RMS, EYA and AND and MNK because of their many interventions obtain information relevant to their needs. Results showed before granted intervention by the media ranks arithmetic average of the results obtained 31.2%, while after a given intervention through the media ranks arithmetic average ability in arithmetic operations of addition to 50 is 65.4, so there is an increase in the value of 6,4 of the previous average value.
