Abstract

Abstract; Children with autism have three complex developmental disorder that impaired social interactions, communication and behavioral disorders. Behavioral disorders experienced by children with autism is diverse, including children with autism have behavioral disorders routines, stereotypies, and others. With regard to behavioral stereotypies are performed by children with autism, in SDN Bendul Merisi Surabaya 408 autistic children who are experiencing behavioral stereotypies be wiped a hand on the cheek and neck is more than 14 times in 25 minutes. In this research, the formulation of the issues raised was "whether the modification game of chess can minimizing of stereotypies behavior to children with autism in SDN Bendul Merisi 408 Surabaya?". The purpose of this study presented which minimizing stereotypies attitude through modification chees games to autism children in sdn bendul merisi 408 surabaya. This study uses a type of single-subject research (SSR) with ABA design study conducted over 28 sessions with documentation of data collection techniques and participant observation, while the data analysis techniques using visual analysis methods, including analysis of the condition and between conditions. From these results, the data range is 14-18 times the baseline phase with the trend of stability, which means 71.4% variable, while the intervention phase data range is 7-14 times the stability trend of 85.7%, which means stable, and the range of data repetition 9-13 times the baseline phase was 85.7% with a tendency to stability means stable. While the percentage of overlap of data baseline to intervention phase was 0% and the intervention phase to phase repetition baseline was 14.3%. The less the percentage of data overlap, the better the effect.Based on the data analysis result it could be that the modification game of chess can minimize the stereotypies behavior to children with autism in SDN Bendul Merisi 408 Surabaya.
